About Bennett Chimney and Dryer Vent Corp

Maple Shade’s older homes, those with brick chimneys built when craftsmanship mattered more than speed, need a chimney sweep who understands their quirks. Bennett Chimney and Dryer Vent Corp has been servicing these homes for decades, specializing in the kind of work that keeps fireplaces safe and efficient. We don’t just sweep; we inspect the masonry, the liner, and the connections between them, because a chimney in a 100-year-old house isn’t the same as one in a new build. The bricks here in Maple Shade are often laid tighter, the mortar harder, and the drafts trickier. We know how to work with that, not against it.

One of the biggest problems in older homes is the way moisture and age wear down chimneys over time. Cracks in the brickwork, deteriorating liners, or even a sagging masonry crown can turn a chimney into a hazard, especially when you’re burning wood in Maple Shade’s damp winters. Our team doesn’t just clean; we identify these issues early, before they become costly repairs. We’ve seen chimneys in this area where the original clay liner was installed poorly, or where the flashing around the roof was never sealed right. Those are the kinds of details we catch, because we’ve seen them before in homes just like yours.

If you’ve ever tried to light a fire in your fireplace only to have smoke billow back into the room, you know how frustrating it can be. More often than not, it’s not the fire itself, it’s the chimney. A blocked flue, a damaged liner, or even a chimney that wasn’t properly relined after a previous sweep can ruin your cozy Maple Shade winter evenings. We handle all of it: from clearing out decades of creosote buildup to repairing cracked masonry or installing new liners when needed. And yes, we also clean dryer vents, because a lint fire in your laundry room is just as dangerous as one in your chimney, and we’ve stopped plenty of those too.
